We are Maverick

Regarded as one of its generation’s most exciting and versatile chamber ensembles, the Maverick Brass Quintet is comprised of five talented young musicians from Australia and New Zealand. Since its inception, its members have emerging international profiles and have performed with renowned ensembles and orchestras, from Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to Le Concert Impromptu and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. United by a single goal, the Maverick Brass Quintet is dedicated to bring chamber music to local communities around the globe; promoting chamber brass music through scintillating and sensitive performances.

Formed in Melbourne in 2015, the Maverick Brass Quintet is dedicated to the cultivation of engaging experiences with established and new brass repertoire.  As an award-winning ensemble, the group is the 2016 winner of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music Chamber Competition as well as the inaugural winner of the Athenaeum Club Instrumental Ensemble Prize, becoming the first brass performance in the club’s 148-year history. The Maverick Brass Quintet has been Norfolk Chamber Music Festival’s Ellen Battell Stoekel Fellow for 2017 and 2018.
